Solid Gold Toilet Stolen...

Sep 18, 2019,14:27 PM

A solid gold toilet was stolen from Blenheim Palace.

The artwork, valued at $6m (£4.8m), was stolen in a raid at the stately home in Woodstock, Oxfordshire on Saturday.
Police are looking into it. The 18-carat gold toilet, entitled America, had been part of an exhibition by Maurizio Cattelan and was available to be used by visitors to the home of the Duke of Marlborough.

Can we all keep an eye out if it’s offered on the Collectors Market.

The house has stood for over 200 hundred years and for that period has held objects have far greater value and yet never had a robbery. Suddenly people are able to break in and then break a toilet out the wall then carry the 55 pound piece through a windo...

Part of Blenheim Palace's park wall is the boundary of my home and garden and we look out across the duke's parkland and trees (plus sheep from time to time) to the Duke of Marlborough's high monument with a park access gate 50 yards away. We feel privile...

Blenheim Palace and adjacent Woodstock and Oxford are the UK locations situated furthest from the sea surrounding the UK. I have an ancestor brought up in Woodstock 1790's who was a lieutenant in Nelson's Navy (I have his battered dress sword passed down ...

I've been trying to lift it for 2 days and I just can't do it by myself.

It was much easier stealing it when I had my crew.

Funny story, I wonder how many had to carry it!

a piece like this made of solid gold would weigh a ton. I bet the thieves won’t sell it as is but will definitely melt down and sell it as weight and price of gold instead. Something like this can’t be sold bluntly and publicly.

It’s in someone’s home 😉 [nt]
