In less than hour my country will join European Union. It is for the first time in our history that we are entering some association by free will of majority of people living in Croatia. Today was festive in City The security was never seen before due to ...  

But I heard many of them not being mad about this idea... Well, times are not exceptional, to say the least, in Europe. I am happy to know that now, we'll not have to wait hours at the border. :) Superb pictures, Damjan, especially of Svevo Marko! All the...

My dear Damjan, as we were talking about Croatia last week while driving through Paris, a couple of days later i was wondering if Croatia was a EU member ... i really had no clue and later on the day i forgot about it. The morning after i got into my car ...

Traditionally, my country has tight relations with Coratia, and therefore it is not surprising that Austrians consider it rather normal, and a logical step that Croatia is entering the EU; we are only puzzled that it took so long ... On the other hand, we... 

I think the appropriate word is finally! We always considered ourselves as foremost part of Europe and than Austro-Hungarian Empire ;) Putting us in Balkans was insult for us...always has been and still is. What took us so long...shortest answer...high po...

Reminds my of Sydney for the 2000 Olympic Games - all spick-and-span. I imagine this was the end of a long journey for Croatia - and hopefully the start of a prosperous period. I trust it brings all the best in terms of security, education and employment ...
