Pursuing Paradise Creek, Part 2

We left the creekside trail, and entered a FastFood Twilight Zone… only about one block long, but boy was it full of tasty choices!

Whew. Thank goodness, these two people on the bus bench were there as a cautionary warning not to eat too much. We didn’t get anything, we were now walking back to the car.

This truck is for sale. Only $6500, and the rims and Super Swamper tires are half its value, I’d bet. Plus the 500 lb roll bar comes with the truck.

One-eyed Corvair, I mean 3-eyed Corvair. I loved the 3 Corvairs I had.

A nice Chevy truck. I’ll bet this guy has gotten a "cease and desist” letter from American Express AMEX but he does have a real business there, with a dozen vehicles all emblazoned with AMMEX

I like symmetry in electrical conduit!

And hummingbird artwork on dumpster gates.

This however, is a bit scary, hiding a sewage pumping station.

We found some real animals in yards while walking back, including a tortoise,

some caged songbirds,

a cat, some dogs, etc.

And we saw a Firewood Man who ironically lived across the street — literally and exactly —

across the street from the Fire Station!

A very old Fire Station (new engines though)

138 years old?

More street art. My feet were aching. See the guys around the right side of the building on recliner chairs in the alley? That’s what I need right now. A recliner. My dogs are barking (feet sore).

We finally got back to the park — 8000 steps worth of walking today, if you are counting.

We drove by a very nice old truck. You don’t find old Chevys still on the road in this condition and Fleetside body too!

though you might see one a block later in a back yard. Stepside.

We passed a whole line of posts with animals on top. This is the only photo that was focused. (shooting while driving) We did see a bunch of lions on posts at other houses - maybe a National City thing?

The watch of the day, a Seiko Moonphase — the only mechanical automatic Seiko moon movement, circa 1986. My action shot was blurry, sorry, you have to settle for a kitchen countertop shot.

As we headed for the highway I saw an extremely rare Ford F350 Crewcab 3 axle Revcon camper (only 67 made) 4x4 or is it 6x6?

You can learn more about this machine if you are interested.

PS — If you have time, here’s a video about why you shouldn’t fly across the country and buy a 30+ year-old motorhome (1 of 67) and attempt to drive it back home … 😂 we saw this video a year ago and never imagined we would see one of these rigs in real life.

Thanks for coming with us, and remember:
