to all affected by this tragedy. Any idea what caused it yet, accident, terrorism?? Initial reports suggested it was old explosives stored in an abandoned warehouse. Had to be A LOT of explosive material to cause damage like that.

Such a tragic event, deeply heartbroken and saddened

Before knowing what happened when I first saw these videos...

I felt the same awkward stomach feeling I had when I first saw the 9\11 World Trade Center being hit! Such horrific moments

A dramatic and so sad tragedy

This country which has already endured so many tragedies really did not need that one... So many lives lost

Yes, we are all Lebanese, these days.

This is about 1.5 km from the port: ...

Sadly, I witnessed some of that before I moved away

Some say what happened yesterday makes the city look far worse. Something that's hard to imagine. ...

I was there also in 1983...

Airport was closed and I went through Larnaca to reach Beirut. Very difficult times also... I went again in 96 and the nightmare was still on. Until last year one could have thought the situation had improved until the economic turmoil again... poor count...

Thank you all for your warm messages.

It means a lot to me and I'm sure to all other Lebanese friends here. It was indeed horrible and the worst timing for my country that is already plagued with so many problems. The damage is huge and beyond imagination. My office is completely destroyed as...

Totally shocking

I was watching various videos today, and saw one with a lady giving birth, and halfway through, the explosion ripped through the hospital. Oh my god, what is the world coming to? I will offer a prayer to the victims today and my heart goes out to them.
