He obviously didn't anticipate the internet, nowadays it's hard to get people to leave the room!

One could argue that the statement has been flipped, nowadays unhappiness is mostly coming from not leaving the room, funny times we're living in...

And I try to explain what I’m “doing” is nothing.

Unfortunately I have known far too many people that are incapable of having peace in their own company and always needed to be with others. Whereas I have always been happiest in my own company knowing my own mind and not caring quite so much for the comp...

There's that saying as well which is roughly - if you're not content by yourself, you're not in good company 😉😉😉
