My Heart Goes Out to Our Members And All Affected By The Palisades Wildfire.

Please stay safe!  My heart is in my throat watching the news.

To our members not familiar with The Palisades Fire: The Pacific Palisades is a neighborhood in Los Angeles on the water near Santa Monica and Malibu.  There is currently a big wildfire in the area.  With few roads in and out of the area, evacuees had to abandon their cars and run for their lives as the fire came up to the road - according to the media.  The media claimed Sunset Boulevard was a parking lot of ash covered cars.  The fire department later had to use a bulldozer to clear some of the road to get fire fighting equipment up the road.  Among thousands of homes, The Getty Villa, a smaller museum related to the larger Getty Center, is also threatened by the fire.  About 25,000 people live in the town of Pacific Palisades, many whom are in or near retirement age and will likely suffer health problems from the smoke.  The local government has imposed Mandatory Evacuation orders to all residents and nearby residents; an estimated 30,000 people.

To all our members and all the human and animal lives near this fire, please stay safe.

My family is probably out of danger, but we have many friends who have evacuated and two already who we know have lost their houses. And it's not the only fire currently burning in the area.

Been up most of night watching

The people I call โ€œMy American Familyโ€ since they hosted me two summers in 1989 and 1990 have lost their family home in Malibu. Thankfully, they have another house in the San Fernando Valley, but still this is a rough time. My heart goes out to the Angeli...

These are heartbreaking news for sure!!

Images arriving here are so frightening and makes us think in those who have lost everything or are required to abandon their homes. Our prayers are for them! Abel
