Let's have fun with some riddles…

Jun 03, 2023,22:32 PM

It’s time to guess which are each of these Montblanc pens…

Some are (very) easy to guess, some others a bit less…
You can play now, just identify their # and name them… 😉

Let’s start very easy with #1

Not more difficult with #2

And probably even easier with #3…

Let’s find one that you will not see every day for sure… here is #4 with 2 photos

Here is another easy guess with #5…

Let’s guess to which pen belongs this beautiful nib, here is #6

I believe it was too easy till now so so let’s identify #7 now…😉

The floor is yours now, GO !

Or writing instruments 🙃, but these look great. For me the VC Mercator and the salmon dial PP are phenomenal

Thanks Bill

PP 5070 chronograph is probably one of the only watches that I have ever regretted. I had to let it go many years ago for getting the needed funds for acquiring my Wonder Watch (PP 3448) as I had no choice. I am still in honey moon with my 3448 after 10 y...

Well…

One — Voltaire Two — Christie Three — Hemingway Four — Proust Five — Humboldt Stumped on the others! Beautiful set of limited editions!

So close!

4 is not Proust. It's Medici. But Proust does come up!

Almost correct ;-)

 By: Mike H : June 4th, 2023-15:09
#1 : Voltaire : LE writers 1995 #2 : Agatha Christie LE writers 1995 #3 : Hemingway LE writers 1992 #4 : as Patrick mentions with right, it is Lorenzo de Medici limited and numbered series Patron of Art 1992 #5 : Alexander von Humboldt Patron of Art 2007 ...

Beautiful pens and watches!

Mike is this part of your collection or random pics? I love watches and pens and obviously I collect both, there’s so much to learn about pens, my god I know nothing about pens besides the way it looks and feels (only fountain pens)

That's all you need to know! How the pen feels in your hand and how the nib feels when you write...

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-04:13
Do you like a wetter nib? A drier one? And the weight/balance of the pen. And the flexibility of the nib. That's all you need to know to evaluate a pen.

I like a drier nib, I can have more control.

 By: Motty : June 5th, 2023-12:19
That’s easy compared to watches 🤪

I know all of them except the last one!

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-04:11
So I'm not going to spoil it for anyone else!

Thanks Patrick, I know that you know about them just like me...

We'll continue the quizz in some other posts another time hehehe

Sounds good!

Just be a bit patient please 🙏

Between my work load in the office, my travelling sometimes (I’m leaving again at the end of this week for 2 weeks) and my (very) busy private life, it’s not always easy to find the time for shooting photos and write articles in addition to keeping an eye...

Totally understand!

All great things take a great amount of time!

These are simply exquisite Mike

Your taste and collection is next level, my friend.

Can you cook?

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-20:50
Cooking is about pairing individual ingredients with another at the right time at the right heat. You might be good at cooking too! I can't cook very well unfortunately. Pasta anyone? It's probably the only thing that I cook well, the pasta is always al d...

I LOVE cooking, hehehe!

 By: Mike H : June 4th, 2023-21:15
I miss time to do it often but when we have friends coming at home and we plan something special that needs time for preparing, I am usually the one in the kitchen

I'm not surprised! Your pairings are so good that you look like a natural...

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-23:59
And your pairing abilities apparently extend into the kitchen! You're a man of many talents! Hmm. I'll have to invite myself over for dinner. I adore eating home cooking!

With BIG pleasure my friend, you are most welcome!

When are you coming? I mean it...

I'll definitely let you know!

 By: patrick_y : June 5th, 2023-02:28
Now that COVID is finally coming to an end, hopefully sometime soon!

👍 great 👌👌

Let me know (I hope not in August as I’ll be away on holiday)

Will do!

 By: patrick_y : June 5th, 2023-15:32

Beautiful 🤩 😍

 By: Jp75 : June 4th, 2023-07:44
Superbe collection of Mont-blanc and great idea to do a pairing with the watches. (Love the Mercator, 5124 and of course the 5070 BtW)..I feel that in these static shots, the watch and pen are reinforcing each other and create uniquely beautiful collectio...

Thank you JP

 By: Mike H : June 4th, 2023-15:19
It is a pleasure every evening chosing my watch, pen, and cuff links for the following day depending on my outfit, meetings and mood And yes you are correct #6 is Marcel Proust LE Writers 1999 Btw the Gondolo is a 5024G the predecessor of 5124 .

Oh! Wow! I missed that!

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-17:59
I thought it was the 5124! But now that you mention it and I take a second look, I do see the dial is a little smaller than the 5124! Thanks for pointing that out! No perfect score for me!

Actually much more than just the dial is different…

 By: Mike H : June 4th, 2023-19:09
The case is not the same : kind of rectangular on the 5024 and more tonneau curvex shape for 5124. The more rectangular double gadrooned case of 5024 gives a more art deco look (that I highly appreciate) The caliber also is quite different: while the 5024...

Ahh! Good to know!

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-20:47
Yes, it's not just limited to the dial, but the whole case! I really liked the 5124. I sometimes wonder if I should've procured the 5124J or the 5124G with salmon dial. I liked both. Didn't like the blue dial version as much. But ultimately I never pulled...

+1. Mike H has superbly exquisite taste at a stupendously high level. I'm running out of superlative descriptors.

 By: patrick_y : June 4th, 2023-18:01
And the amazing part is that his exquisite taste crosses many genres and mediums. Not just watches!

I can easily understand ;-)

...

We are not yet done, the last one #7 is still missing...

 By: Mike H : June 4th, 2023-16:41
To sum up: #1 : Voltaire : LE Writers 1995 #2 : Agatha Christie LE Writers 1995 #3 : Hemingway LE Writers 1992 #4 : as Patrick mentions with right, it is Lorenzo de Medici limited and numbered series Patron of Art 1992 #5 : Alexander von Humboldt Patron o...
