Engage with life in a more passive, reactionary manner a lot of the time.... There are simply far too many unpredictable variables to be able to contend with them by some form of advanced planning/strategy.... I do think more people than would be willing to admit make decisions increasingly based on how they feel about something rather than sheer logical/reasonable assessments....

Not a perspective for me. It is my life, my way of life, my everything.
Now, as far as soothing, sure, that is a part of it. But is is SO much more than that.
