Ideas for visiting Florence please

Jul 16, 2019,16:44 PM

My wife and I are planning a trip to Florence in Jan 2020. This will be our very first visit to this fabulous city. I think we have pretty much decided to stay in the Duomo area for convenience. We can't afford the Savoy or St Regis so can any purist who is familiar with that town recommend a hotel? Something safe, classy, italian, and charge a tad less than those aforementioned will be great. Thanks in advance. James This message has been edited by cazalea on 2019-07-19 08:11:42

I stayed here... nice hotel and I thought the price was very competitive. Stayed in a Vacheron suite. ...

I second this suggestion.

There are pictures of this hotel that I posted in this forum 3 years ago, or so. You won’t be disappointed.

Do check out the B&Bs...some of them are really great and allow you to interact with a local.

I’m sure some great properties are to be found. Depending on the amount of days you are planning, why not even stay as far out as Lucca and commute into town? That way you get to experience more and who knows, maybe even be surprised in the process while ...
