TimeOut

I wish your posts would go on forever…

What a beautiful neighborhood.  There is something attractively quaint and inviting with preserved historic beauty that isn’t in-your-face modern.  So many things to comment on, but that bed of ice flowers is amazing the way it looks like a sort of glacier flowing over the sides of the wall.  But everything is worth a comment, the bike under tree, the “bell” flowers, succulents, peeling bark!  Again, the character of the houses are a special feature.  I don’t mind modern structures/developments, but these types of neighborhoods take me back to another time of values and potential that is long gone.

I know it may sound funny, but this post of such a neighborhood founded in the 50’s provides a needed pick me up in context of the news of Geoff Hinton’s commentary on the dangers of AI and the coming future.  I do miss much of the old glory days, but can’t stop what is coming.  Still, a nice virtual walk like this through Fleetridge and similar does provide a welcome beauty that hopefully will persist.
