On one hand, I think the designers are constrained by design philosophy of the 911. But look at what Ferrari has done...from the 328-348-355-360-430-458.....the if you parked them in a line, you can see the Pinifarina lineage, and rear engined RWD V8s...all inspired by F1, and there is clear evolution. Why can't the 911 designers do similar? Maybe I am too harsh. And the countless and useless proliferation of 911 models and limited editions....exactly like the APs and Hublots of the watch world is doing. If push comes to shove, I would say 911 C2 and Turbo would be the 2 models with the most transparent lineage, but I do wish there is a more radical redesign.
