Haarlem & Amsterdam
Dec 01, 2018,10:45 AM
Not so long ago I had privilege to be invited to Dutch GTG that took place in Haarlem and Amsterdam
OK it was blast...it was savage
but here I would like to share few shots of my trip to charming little town next to Amsterdam that gave name to part of my favorite city NY
and fact that during that very GTG one big dude brought with him watch that poisoned me like not many watches before….
you know that feeling when you see watch live...strap it on wrist and bam...your brain is telling you only one sentence...get it...get it...get it
but that's material for another post
now let me take you on a trip
When you have this view from your hotel room things look promising
Time to go out and start rockin
Mornin table set up was promising...glass for grappa on table is good sign
From Haarlem we went to Amsterdam where Gassan old diamond cutting house was kind enough to be our host
From their private dock we went with boat to sightseeing of Amsterdam via world famous canals
It was absolutely fabulous
Drinks...chatting...club sandwiches and lot of watches including special guest stars on board...the Horological brothers
Charming place
Charged with rich history that is screaming trade trade trade
After canal visit we went off to Gassan where private diamond "school & review" was organized
We learned all about 4 C
and handled some amazing samples
Private viewing room is full of details
and a bit of horology….something is missing here
then off to city center to Gassan boutique to look at latest offer of timepieces from all different brands you can imagine
After exhausting afternoon time has come to have some food at exquisite restaurant in center of Haaarlem currently in hands of Michelin star chef
Food was amazing but our hosts made one table only for us
Well after...let's say what happens in Haarlem stays in Haarlem….yes bottle was emptied among many others
Early flight and sightseeing of Haarlem on way to main train station
Hmmm there is some smoke coming out of building
Highly recommended place to visit...a charm of a place
Now you obviously ask how savage was GTG...welll let say mornin after dead seagulls were laying on a street
Big huge immense thanks to 3 hosts from Netherlands
Till next time
