Graham, even though you are old
and I am a bit older ;-), music is timeless and we all need to be able to discover it in a way that resonates.
I discovered so much much after the fact, but that's what it took to really appreciate some music.
I didn't care for Led Zep until much laterwhen I discovered the blues and realized that they were an incrediblee blues band. Same (even more so) with Fleetwood Mac.
All the good English rock bands came from the blues.
My musical formative years were in the 70s (eventually getting to do album artwork for more than a few bands).
Most of what I discovered came from taking chances on what I found in the used record bin, and always what I heard on the radio (we did have very good FM stations, though.
