Little children have no perception of proportion, so when they ride a toy truck, their experience is as real as the real truck.

When the trailer takes the original (paying) load to it’s destination, it has to go back to where it started from. The toy on the back seems to be a joke that the driving team added. Would be fun to know the details.
Maybe it's an attempt at making the return trip business-related . . .
