Just goes to show that violence of any kind, including gun violence, can happen anywhere and anytime, regardless of local laws. Requiescat In Pace Abe-San.

Are you suggesting gun laws don’t matter?

This is a very sad day in Japan and you are right this can happen anywhere. However one person killed in a targeted attack with a home made gun is very different than US laws allowing purchase of assault rifles where lunatics kill many random people on a ...

I truly have no clue how....

one might construe that general conclusion from my sentence, but I guess the ultimate truth of the matter is that they in fact don't matter to those dead-set on committing crimes. They are the ones who genuinely have no regard for any laws. Cheers, Filip

Also, for general clarification sake....

Any actual or improvised weapon can be labeled as an 'assault weapon', this is a heavily butchered label generated by the mass media based off of the 'AR-15' moniker (frequently used to refer to semi-automatic rifles), which has come to mean absolutely no...

I wouldn't normally comment but: Shame on you for turning this simple post about condolences for Mr. Abe's tragic death into another pro-gun political rant.

Who was the person making political insinuations toward me in the first place. I assure you, my comments are in the best of intentions and completely reasonable. The shame here, if any, is solely yours. Cheers, Filip

It is very clear what you were implying with your original post. Even if we pretend that not to be the case, what does a single isolated incident like this have to do with gun laws? More importantly, why even bring up gun laws in the context of this post?

No doubt you'll feel an urge to reply to get a "last word". Feel free - I will not be commenting on this any further. Everyone is entitled to their views, but please consider the place and context.

LoL - you're both funny and....

hypocritical. There were no intended 'implications' in my original post. I literally typed the first sentence that naturally came to my mind, exhibiting sincere empathy for the tragic loss of life which occured. Both the person who initially responded to ...
