Guilty! I was 18. Received my license a month prior. Saturday night. Had the family car. Had a hot date. Driving from party to party etc. Light goes off. Whatever. I'm sure I can still drive around town, take my date home, and let Mom or Dad deal with this tomorrow. Car starts shaking. Ignore it. Drive some more. Car starts shuddering. Not now darn it. I'm going to get lucky tonight. Keep driving. Soldier on. Car has one massively violent death rattle and dies. Push it to side of the road. Now what? Cell phone? Ha Ha. So many years ago people would have laughed at the mere notion of a pocket device that could summon friends. Luckily two mates were passing in a taxi. One helped me push the car to a Petrol Pump. Attendant took one look and shook his head. I went home and had to wake my parents and tell them the car stopped working. Next day my father explained the cost of the seized engine. Oh yeah, my hot date...my other mate took her home.
