A Grand Day Out-Walking, Part 2

We left off at Thunderbird and Singing Bird and Coral Tree… it wasn’t all beauty and sunshine, as the neighborhood is uneven (lots of old folks like us letting their houses go ‘downhill’ somewhat).

I’m sure the tidy Rivian owner is annoyed, but that’s the cycle of life... little old houses were scraped for these two. The neighborhood is pre-WWII according to the 1939 sidewalk stamp I saw on one corner.

Within this trailer is a VW Thing converted into a mobile Espresso machine.

Across a canyon is the University of San Diego.

Across the sidewalk is a beautiful rose.

And as you might know, they say “It’s Turtles All the Way Down.” I’m sure Filip can explain that saying, but here’s what Wikipedia suggests:

"Turtles all the way down" is an expression of the problem of infinite regress. The saying alludes to the mythological idea of a World Turtle that supports a flat Earth on its back. It suggests that this turtle rests on the back of an even larger turtle, which itself is part of a column of increasingly larger turtles that continues indefinitely. The exact origin of the phrase is uncertain. In the form "rocks all the way down", the saying appears as early as 1838.

So at least a century before these homes were built!

I say “It’s bees what make the world go round”

and flowers feed the bees.

And bees give us wax so we can see in the dark when the power’s out (Sorry Spain, Portugal and our house yesterday — though our outage was planned).

We stopped for a quick meeting to exchange some beeswax with a pal at church.

I have too much.

One the way home we saw a little ocean,

and a little red car that looked familiar.

and marveled over the tenacity of plant life fighting its way towards the sunlight:

And finally at home I remembered the watch of the day photo — I carried two watches today (three different displays)

I have forgotten how to synchronize the Ana & digital displays, sorry.

Thanks for walking with us today.
