The action bottom:

Pistol grip gap:

Top lever to open the rifle:

One of the nicest engraved rifles I have. I think my .375 H&H Flanged Mag. N.E. beats this.

What do you think, rifles can also look nice?

internally when a watch seller explains the "incredible" dials. Best, Kari

Exquisite. Some of the finest craftsmanship in the world is gun related.

That was my initial draw to guns, knives, etc. as a young child. To handle such a work of art, that is also functional... quite similar to my love for a nice timepiece. Bravo for sharing these beauties.

Nice if you like.

My rifles are nicer than my shotguns. But I'm correcting the situation. I just ordered a gun from James Purdey & Sons, London, and now I'm discussing the detail like engraving, possible gold inlays, etc. What I like about ordering rifles and guns is that ...

Wow! they can look fantastic

Thanks for showing us this fantastically beautiful hand work -- nice to hear from you. I have only one weapon that is 'decorated' .. also with an elephant. But it is certainly no match for that wonderful gun. I remember you showing us photos of your lodge...

I think perhaps I would not be able to travel with it

I bought it 30 years ago in Seattle in an exotic second-hand shop, and foolishly forgot that I had to fly home on the airplane with it. But someone in my family came up with a big cardboard tube, like for charts and posters, and it was no problem to check...

A couple of years ago I had a flight from Frankfurt to Miami.

We have a long history in creating such marvels, I love any of them. I particularly love the elephant that is decorative and also the opening lever. Very nice.

Yes, Italians make the world’s best shotguns.

Best rifles, in my opinion, are made in Austria and also in Germany. The London producers are also something very special. Best, Kari

No, made in Germany.

Hard to get a Purdey with similar engraving. And for me Purdey means shotguns. Furthermore, Purdey wants my both kidneys just for the gild inlaid manufacturer’s name. So I will probably keep on kidney and the name comest only to the other side. Purdey rem...
