Very nicely done!

As I'm more a metal and electricity man, I have only that sort of facility. And my garage is a bit of a mess right now.

I was taken through a friend's basement shop a couple months ago - I don't even know what most of these machines will do, but they are mostly Swiss so I imagine this is heaven for a woodworker!

Nothing better than the feeling of completing a project like this with your own know-how and two hands. My father taught me the art of making burl-bowls using wood from his forest, and he has expanded his workshop recently in retirement - we could spend h...

My son is a very accomplished woodworker.

I have a garage full of his tools as he has no place to keep them for now. Lathe, planer, drill press, belt sander, dust collector among others. What he needs is a stand alone shop.

My favorite TV show is . . .

. . . The Woodwright's Shop . And I've never done more than hammer in a nail or turned a screw. Dad made a desk out of solid walnut back in the early '60s. He took a woodworking class at Taft Junior College - the desk was his project. No screws - every jo...

Family treasures are wonderful things and it has nothing to do with intrinsic value.

Thank you Art, my hope is it will. I had my oldest boy sign his name and a small note before the skirt was glued to the outside. I

Big enthusiast here. Sadly, it is a hobby I currently don't indulge, as I have no time for it. But I have a new home with an oversized garage, and lots of power supply with hopes of resuming one day. I have fired up my bandsaw a few times for some house p...

For now just a wall clock.

This is a prototype (unfinished) already want to start over but learned so so much, 6 sided glass. Thought it best to start with a "cheaper" movement. I have made many actual clocks with wooden gears but think the cabinet making to house an already made m...

Thanks for sharing your excellent woodworking skills and nice clocks. The wooden gears are amazing! Agree, best starting simple and enjoy the learning curve. What kind of face do you want the clock to have, same for a finish on the wood? Am I correct that...

Yes it is Maple!!

 By: doubleup : November 1st, 2019-12:49
You are absolutely correct it is maple. I would love to learn enameling. There is a class at my local community college but seems very difficult. I think a white face with aerobic numerals would be really neat. Not certain yet. I am very excited and learn...

I thought it was maple from the color and grain...

Hmmm...I think enameling is interesting but it take LOTS of practice. I am not totally certain how professionals make the numerals so sharp, but even here there is a high failure rate. Ok, white face with Arabic numerals sounds nice. Looking forward to wh...
