But why midlife crisis? I am your age and did climbing and via ferratas for the past 30 years. Still love it. You might get a bit slower and less „adventurous“ (if you know what I mean) but everytime it is still a marvelous experience, having concurred the wall and standing at the top! And it keeps you fit! 🙏🏻🍀🤩

Mid-Life Crisis?

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-18:12
In the midst of COVID quarantine last year, my daughter said, "you should try rock climbing." Sure....why not! Less than a year later, I took my biggest climbing challenge yet. With my daughter about to leave the nest for Grad School, we decided to have o...

Thank you! It was a blast!

( Of course the next day, I was so sore that it hurt to blink! ) LOL!

Hehehe;...

Hmmm…

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-18:35
I will say mine was off to a rocky start. Going much better now!

LOL!

 By: amanico : June 23rd, 2021-18:37

Wow, good idea, impressive

 By: brauner : June 23rd, 2021-18:20
Next time this one? ...

Nice! Where is it?

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-18:21

Just looked it up. Wow! Looks like an amazing climb!

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-19:03
I think I'll stick to Devils Tower for now (Difficulty 5.7-5.8) Pico Cao Grande, Sao Tome e Principe is Graded 5.13d...waaay beyond my skillset!

😉

 By: brauner : June 23rd, 2021-20:03

Great idea! 🤔

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-18:32

You are 100% correct!

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-18:33

Such a great achievement. Physically, mentally pushing yourself to the limits. 😊

 By: geross : June 23rd, 2021-18:31
The bonding with your daughter is priceless. Congratulations. 👏 Cheers to the view. 🥃 Geross.

Thank you!

It was a priceless moment I’ll cherish forever!

My daughter was the magic ingredient

 By: JToddH : June 23rd, 2021-18:36
Without her there, my achievement would merely have been climbing a rock.

Kudos to you mate….

 By: Mr.Gatsby : June 23rd, 2021-18:44
At age 55 if I have a second midlife crisis (I currently have one) I probably would buy a super car and a bride from vietnam … Best Gatsby

LOL. Good one.

 By: amanico : June 24th, 2021-05:50

LOL indeed

 By: Mr.Gatsby : June 24th, 2021-17:18

Oh mon ami….

 By: Mr.Gatsby : June 24th, 2021-17:19
I pray it’s an old ferrari, Aston martin or 911 ))

What an achievement!

By: Time to watch : June 23rd, 2021-19:02
Congratulations, that’s one hell of a climb. Last time I saw that mountain was in close encounters of the third kind. Don’t suppose you noticed anything strange up there.

More a relief than disappointment.

By: Time to watch : June 23rd, 2021-19:44
Seriously though, congratulations once again.

Secret military base?

 By: onnomon : June 23rd, 2021-19:45

Great achievement Todd

 By: Weems@8 : June 23rd, 2021-19:35
Also strong your daughters are adventures. I am more a tourist who want to sit on a terrace and enjoy the new luxury watch i bought in a boutique. Lazy mixed with cultural interests.

In all seriousness if you’re still alive

 By: myles721 : June 23rd, 2021-22:25
Then it really was the BEST thing you ever did. I have a few achievements like that and they have stayed with me forever. More importantly your daughter will share these memories with her grandchildren one day! Congratulations to both of you!

Congratulations & well done! That's quite an achievment.

 By: M4 : June 23rd, 2021-22:49
I hope there's an easier way down than the climb up. M4

First, what a fricken cool thing to do with your daughter.

 By: Jay (Eire) : June 24th, 2021-00:36
And second, it seems nuts to go from zero to this in that timeframe. Mighty impressive. 8 hours to get up there. How does one come down?

amazing, it looks way to steep for my taste

 By: sirbogey : June 24th, 2021-04:37
question: how did you come down?

OMG! First off, congratulations on your

achievement and your daughter's guidance and company! Must've been a supreme bonding experience for both of you. For myself I dearly hope, at very close to 50, that I've been through the worst of my own midlife, uh, issues so I won't have to do anything n...

Huge congratulations, Todd! This is how you do it. 👌🏻

 By: mrds : June 24th, 2021-05:58
My sincere appreciation for pulling it off. You now have one more priceless memory together with your daughter. Daniel

Been there... but nor climbed it... Huge congrats!

 By: nacelle : June 24th, 2021-14:18
Father daughter times are some of the best.....

A tip of my cap to you and your daughter, Todd . . .

 By: Dr No : June 24th, 2021-16:05
. . . I have a hard time climbing a ten-foot ladder, so following in your footsteps isn't even imaginable. 👍🏻

Very cool and beautiful mountain❣️ And congrats! It‘s impressiv, especially if you did not do climbing before! 👍🏻🔆💪🏻🍀😃

Thanks for the encouragement!

The funny part is that I didn't START rock climbing until last year. Sure, I've done skydiving, scuba, kayaking, etc. ...this is the NEXT chapter!

Good for you

 By: sschew : June 24th, 2021-22:44
At least your midlife crisis involves exercise which is healthy-just don't fall that might be bad.

That’s what the ropes are for!

 By: JToddH : June 27th, 2021-19:30
…at least I hope so! 🤣

Bravo, Todd! Maybe it is time for CFB to release an altimeter timepiece?!?

 By: MichaelC : June 30th, 2021-12:24
Seems they have their Ambassador already ;-)

A pilot watch would be cool.

The Manero Flyback Retro is pretty "outdoorsy" oo, especially with the rustic Kudu antelope strap. (Now you've got me thinking about a CFB Pilot watch design! )
