Also here Montblanc did a really good job by creating these two pens inspired by century old designs from its own house. Really impressive holding the Medici in the hand. ...

Very cool

I particularly like the 5070. It's such a versatile and attractive watch. The white gold version is dynamic, bold and refined. I have also noticed that the engraver of your Medici is not the same one as mine. I have heard that there were eight different e...

Yes I know the story and you are absolutely right…

There were indeed 8 master craftsmen who were entitled by MB to work on the Medici, their first LE. A very fine and special piece for sure. Did you also notice that the vent/breather hole of the nib on the Medici is heart-shaped instead of the usual round...

Actually there was one master craftsman

He trained 7 other craftsmen to achieve those 4810 pens (plus 8 in gold). All golden ones were made by him and also some of the silver ones.

I am glad to learn someting new about it, thanks my friend

Since you seem to be in the know in detail, shall I understand that THE one who trained the 7 others was the MB master craftman while the 7 others have been temporaly appointed for this mission as "independant subcontractors"? I had been told that they we...

Oh no, all were external

They searched for one person to do the job and he then trained the others to his skills. Depending on the amount of pens this is applied from time to time. Although nowadays only the really limited pens receive this kind of engraving by hand.

Oh...yes...I noticed. A very neat and understated difference.

On the other hand, Montblanc just used a standard 149 nib for the Hemingway. I kind of believe that Montblanc didn't really want to invest too much in modifying tools and take extra miles to make their very first two limited editions. Maybe they would lik...

Very true

when the management decided to kick of the Patron of Arts in 1992 the brand image was not at all well perceived. They had been producing cheap ballpoints and pens for school kids and tried to get back to their heritage of the early 20th century. The Loren...

This is exactly it, and not only the 5070 had to go 🤷🏻‍♂️

But probably the 5070 is the only one that I regret… even if for sure I never had any regrets for sacrificing all these for my 3448 😍

My favorites are the Peter and Catherine The Great...

And I also really like the recent Borghese Limited Edition. So modern yet so classic.
