The more I look at it, the more I like it,

Brunello Cucinelli. I would like to try a piece one of these days, out of curiosity more than anything else. Quite expensive however. Of course my wife wouldn't want to be left out. ...

The fabric quality is pretty high

but manufacturing quality is relatively basic for the price. There is nothing inherently bad about it, but its primarily machine made and does not have any of the handwork that other brands in that price point have. I really like the styling of it though ...

+1 on the fabrics.

However, I look to them primarily for cashmere or alpaca knitwear, where tailoring, per se, is less of an issue. For suits/sports coats, it's generally Zegna, Isaia, or Kiton for me these days, and Loro Piana for outerwear.

Kiton has much higher level craftsmanship and more interesting and futuristic materials.

However, Kiton is generally a little more colorful and a little less classic than Cucinelli (although it doesn't always have to be, you can choose more classic pieces from Kiton). I definitely agree Kiton is a better value than Cucinelli!

I generally avoid Zegna. Very normal quality.

Zegna is leagues different compared to Isaia and Kiton on jackets. It's especially obvious on the shirts, machine stitched button holes, machine stitched buttons, straight through sleeve/arm stitching on some Zegnas. Where Isaia and Kiton have obvious han...

I have no experience with Zegna clothing, but

I did meet him several year back.

It's become very mass market and morphed the brand into a big brand...

It was always a big brand but mainly for textiles rather than fine tailoring. Now it's huge in both. No need to partake, it's nothing special. Lots of Zegna products is made in Eastern Europe now. And they have products that are made for outlets too. It's...

I agree. Don't have the same qualified background as you have, but I do have some basic textile knowledge and I've tried on a number of BC pieces at a local retailer. It's really overpriced at MSRP.

You get the same overall quality for lower prices or better overall quality at the same price with others. I'd only buy something from BC, if a certain piece would really blow my mind regarding design.

I stopped buying OTR.

I reached a certain age. I dress a certain way. I have a tailor on Savile Row whose house style suits me. A very distinctive silhouette. One button is all you need on the jacket. Anyway, great fabrics available. Bespoke. Made on my pattern. The coats and ...

Surely one of my favorite brands

Especially for casual clothing. The others are Seraphin, Kiton, Brioni, Colombo, Heron and Loro Piana ...

The scarf in the second photo is

probably close to $1,000, or more. Seems silly for an item used only during the cold months, at least to me anyway.

Good guess

I only buy during big sale so it was around US$ 400. Not so bad....

Buy only on sale...

Although I really like Cucinelli, I have to say Cucinelli is not worth it. Loro Piana is a better value and Loro Piana can be dressed up and dressed down (Cucinelli is more casual). Eleventy is very similar to Cucinelli, half the price, and most Eleventy'...
