Sabine Schmitz has passed away after her battle with cancer. Those of us who knew her will miss her laughter and zest for life. The chequered flag has fallen for the last time. Rest in peace Sabine. ...  

I had no clue! She was such a great person, an incredible driver, so full of energy and with a great sense of humor. RIP!

Really really sad news.

Tragic news. She inspirited me to make the pelgrimage to our destiny the Nurburgring Nordschleife area in Rijnland Palts. The autosport lost one of the biggest characters, and i wil never forget my inspirator Sabine Schmitz. I wil never forget the van rid...  

..nothing to add ....met her once in Cologne, she was very refreshing. RIP baby!

Like most here from the UK I only really knew of her from her appearances on Top Gear but she seemed not only a great driver but also a great person sad news indeed as I had no idea she was ill. Rest in peace Sabine. Marc

She was so funny - her smile was contagious

To get to know that we have lost a bright star, not just in motoring but from life in general. May the family that she left be comforted by the thought that she is regarded well as a driver and a truly great person

She was always a fun character and will be sorely missed! Condolences to her loved ones.
