Now he sleeps on the sliding glass door sill so he can reach up with one paw and bang on the glass. That way he doesn’t have to waste his energy on standing up until we come to let him in ... ...

My preference for the cat being in or out highly depends on if I’m in or out myself. Since I belief in balance in life, it means that if I’m out I like him to be inside and vice versa
