Jealous of the distances you have to practice on.

I’m in Massachusetts, my club tops out at 400 yards, and that is one of the longest ranges in the state. When ammo prices went trough the roof and I couldn’t find primers to reload my 300 PRC, I picked up a Bergara B14 R in .22. Been having a blast (pun intended) at 200 yards with it. Glad to know there are others that enjoy target shooting in this group.

BTW the Accuracy International is awesome.
Thanks,
Wojo

Carbon fiber barrel, looks and fees very similar to my B14 HMR in 300PRC

First time taking it to 200 yards, not bad for a .22 LR in windy conditions

Spent an unbelievable day last week just laying around

I have been ramping up on firearms practice and training with my son. I have always been decent with handguns and long guns, but never had any formal instruction. I want my son learning everything correctly, so I have hired a certified instructor I know a...

Seems like pretty darned good shooting to me...

...nice that your son was there too...

Better than I expected for sure.

My son actually took me down on our first set at 200, so that was well in my mind as we continued. He shoots rather well, and it is an activity we really enjoy doing together.

Haha no snakes!! I think they are seeking their dens this time of year.

I am fairly certainly one of the large neighborhood bull snakes has set up shop in one of our retianing walls. I am happy to keep an eye out and grab some photos just for you ;-)

Naaah, that's ok! :))))

Just let me know if you change your mind ;-)

Truth be told, I am a real animal lover. I don't hunt, I don't even run over rattlers in the neighborhood. Most neighbors do, but the truth is they were here long before the houses.

That is insanely true.

I wore my Laventure and my son had on his Luminox Stealth (that one dates to the early 90s as well, I will have to get some photos).

What calibers were you shooting?

 By: jp884 : October 27th, 2021-21:26
Looks like one might be a 556 or 301? How did it hold bullet trajectory at 600 yards? About 10 years ago I wanted to add a 50 cal Barrett but hesitated because I didn't want to pay $5 a round to sight the rifle then put it away. Now I wish I would have bo...

The AI and LMT are both 7.62x51 / 308

I also had a smaller Tikka 223 to warm up with. All are tack drivers

Works of art

Nice, good for you.

I have a few rifles and several "large caliber" handguns.

My kind of fellow.

 By: MichaelC : October 27th, 2021-21:52
My largest handguns are 44 Magnum. I love them dearly, but I cap off there. I can shoot 357 Magnum all day, but still love my 44s.

I have 2 .357 Magnums, 2 .44 Magnums and a .454 Casull

 By: Thomas_3 : October 28th, 2021-13:56
The .454 Casull is a BEAST, make the .44 magnum look mild. There's a couple more in the mix also, .22 and .45ACP.

Jealous of the distances you have to practice on.

Looks fun. This particular range is about 90 minutes away on a high speed highway

Totally worth the drive. We make it a day and have a dinner together on the way home. Some of the best Father-Son time we have ever enjoyed.

gorgeous hand gun!!

Thanks Fab. I find it a rewarding passion.

I know not everyone agrees, but I have always found guns and knives to be artistic. I admire the technical properties and machining of these objects. I enjoy handling them even when I am not shooting. It is very rare that a full day goes by when I do not ...

Channeling your inner Jack Reacher

I have never seen that movie

 By: MichaelC : October 28th, 2021-15:18
I'll have to check it out!

This is fabulous! Both the ability to enjoy this hobby and also to do it with your son.

I am from Singapore where all males have to serve in the military. Was a marksman in my days and my son, who is now in the military, is also a sharp shooter. Alas, it’s hard to pursue this interest where I am. Hopefully, one day in the US, perhaps.

Thank you. I'm sure I don't have your skill set, but I find long range shooting a fun challenge.

You really have to bear down and focus, and I like that aspect of it. To have my son with me, and so enthusiastic, it is very special. God Bless your son and all soldiers.

Thanks Michael! 🙏

Our children’s future is an exciting one. Stay well!

Looks like a very fun day, Michael.

My oldest girl just reminded me the other day that I said I'd teach her gun safety and take her to the range soon (as my dad did with me).

Love to hear that. I started my son and daughter very young with gun safety.

 By: MichaelC : October 28th, 2021-15:24
I'm a huge believer in proper instruction versus hiding such things away. I frequently review basic safety with the kids and wife (the wife does not pay as close attention, but she knows the basics). Guns are often a very unfortunate part of life, and I n...

Tom Berenger, loved him in the first movie

Not sure I ever caught any sequels though.

The club I shot at was private, but the instructor is a member.

 By: MichaelC : October 28th, 2021-15:27
We were the only ones on the rifle range for most of the time. A fellow member showed up when we were at 600, and used the other end of range. Really did not even know he was there.
