I also picked up a few mid-range MB models from the late 70s (e.g., 121, 221, 24) that reminded me of a pen I bought new in Zurich in 1977. Like with anything else, nostalgia can be a driving factor with our hobbies.
Lately, my interest has turned to Japanese pens, including Namiki and Nakaya. They're made and write beautifully. My interest in these pens was probably prompted by reading too many Haruki Murakami novels and wearing Japanese denim ;-)

Maybe the lightest 149 ever produced. Almost full plastic construction in the piston system with a 14C nib from 60s or 70s (I'm not very sure here). Vintage nibs write amazingly, this M size nib writes like an F or even EF. Well balanced and very smooth (...
