Great way to celebrate Arronax! Thank you for joining us. That 70007 marking is a great coincidence and reminds me of the classic scene in "Goldfinger" when Bond deactivates the atomic bomb...

Hello dear friends! Sixty years ago, On October 5th, 1962 the first James Bond film was released: “” with Sean Connery as the 007 spy and Ursula Andress as the first “Bond Girl”. As most of you already know I’m a declared Bond fan since around 1963/1964 w...

Every xxx years i watch the whole series with pleasure .... and with a little dream about the DB5 and his sub :p

 By: patrick_y : October 5th, 2022-18:55
I will toast the Bond Franchise the next time I have a Martini. Probably a Vesper Martini. I remember watching most of these films as a child and being so impressed. As a child I immediately saw the DNA of a Bond film; the titular character, the Bond Girl...

Hello Patrick!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I join you with my toast to Ian Flemming and the Broccoli family as well.

 By: Subexplorer : October 5th, 2022-19:56
As not only a film viewer of Bond films but also a reader of the original Flemming´s novels I share your thoughts about the changes in the character in later films. Guess the World has changed a lot since the post war era and Cold War years in which Flemm...

Yes! I was actually introduced as a child to brands from reading novels and short stories from Ian Fleming and Roald Dahl. Dahl's short stories about expensive wines introduced me to all the famous first growth vineyards. If I ever become a parent, I'll p...

Roald Dahl is another author I like so much. Great reading. You made me laugh with your comment about censoring your children from reading these authors. Lol!

 By: Subexplorer : October 6th, 2022-15:39
Here in my Country Dahl is recommended reading in our English Language courses. I´m sure they didn´t corrupt you... or me by reading them. Lol! Yes, I have some favorite films: the first four: Dr. No, From Russia, Goldfinger and Thunderball. Can´t get bor...

Dahl is an amazing author. But oddly, he's on two extremes, one side of the spectrum he's writing children's stories about Giant Peaches and Chocolate Factories. On the other side, his short stories are filled with innuendo and some x-rated pieces that we...

Hello again Patrick! Agree with you about Dahl. I may add that some of his short stories are truly creepy. As a matter of fact several of them have been using as stories for the famous...

But seriously, 007 had also made an impact on me during childhood. The earliest one I watched in the cinema was Roger's take on the franchise.

Hello dear KCLQMULKU! It´s true I didn´t name them but in my opening post I made my toast to all actors playing Bond including Pierce Brosnan. Each of them added a different approach to the character of ...

Cars, watches, gadgets, music and beautiful and/or exotic locations make for the attraction of Bond films no doubt. Every actor playing Bond has given a different personal approach to the character. Of course Connery set a very high bar for his successors...

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts Hans. Moore gave his Bond a very special character, more light and humorous than the previous actors playing 007. I liked him very much.
