Do you prefer the older 149 models to the newer?

149 from 60s 70s

Maybe the lightest 149 ever produced. Almost full plastic construction in the piston system with a 14C nib from 60s or 70s (I'm not very sure here). Vintage nibs write amazingly, this M size nib writes like an F or even EF. Well balanced and very smooth (...

Thank you for your nice words. Oh...yes, absolutely, I much prefer the older nibs.

Also nibs from older limited editions write better than the current ones nib my very personal opinion. I feel more comfortable resistance (on the paper) when writing.

Interesting Grisar. I have a 146 and 149 from the '90s, along with a few limiteds (Agatha, Dostoevsky, Schiller, Proust)

I also picked up a few mid-range MB models from the late 70s (e.g., 121, 221, 24) that reminded me of a pen I bought new in Zurich in 1977. Like with anything else, nostalgia can be a driving factor with our hobbies. Lately, my interest has turned to Japa...

Totally agree. Japanese pens are better made artistically compared to recent MB limited editions.

Proust is a very impressive fountain pen, I like this writer's edition better than many other patron of art pens.

I love my 149 Solid in my hand due
