Ginger Baker was unique.
I never hear a drummer drum so great.

Nicko McBrian from Iron Maiden is the best living drummer.
I like how he drums on the world slavery tour live after death. The track hallowed be thy name is a master peace (of mind)

A great drummer who made great rock music. R.I.P. His greatest song for me personally is Badge.

Indeed

Cream has been my all time favorite rock/blues band. Their 2005 reunion concert still plays frequently in my DVD player. Ginger shines on the 10 minute "Toad" piece.

Not sure if this makes sense in musical terms, but to my ears, Ginger was almost . . .

. . . uniquely able to 'bend' drum beats the same way Steve Stevens or Jimmy Page are able to bend guitar chords. One of three drum Gods from Wembley, the other two being Charlie Watts and Keith Moon. There must be something in Wembley's water ;-) . . .

It would be childish to name Ringo star . Sure, Keith Moon and the Who are good. You better you better you bet. I think i am more at the bluesy side of the game. Clapton, T~rex starring Marc Bolan, The Doors, Motörhead, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Miller, and th...

Gotta include Grand Funk Railroad . . .

. . . on that list! Don Brewer . . . Detroit Rock City . . . is such a beast. ;-)

His son?? . . .

. . . never knew he even had a son, Nicolas! Are you sure?

That would be Zak Starkey, Ringo's son. Don Brewer has two daughters . . .

. . . according to his Wikipedia entry - no mention of a son. You must have been replying to Weems - sorry for the mix-up! Coincidentally, I've met Jason Bonham, son of John, at The Rainbow Bar and Grill. One night, he was so drunk he literally fell flat ...

I think it's Zak. [nt]

Another of the greats from a golden era has left the building.
