Every once in a while I've used generic brand refills for my Mont Blancs and never noticed a difference. Maybe I've just been lucky. Perhaps some generics are better than others.
I've also used other brand ink in MB fountain pens without any issues, although they've always been name brands. I'm using Pelican ink in them at the moment but I've used others.

Maybe, but not sure i want to risk it again,
but the generics are much cheaper than the MB ones, so I'm not out much if they too are no good.
