For the well dressed English Country Man and all others who love that style

Crockett & Jones' boot Snowdon: This Boot is a veltdshoen, a field boot that has the most waterproof construction in traditional shoe making. Equiped with a Comnando Sole: Ready to conquer Mount Snowdon ... and the urban jungle πŸ˜€ And it smells like leathe...

Not bad but why brown? [nt]

 By: brauner : October 17th, 2019-04:40

There was also a black model "Radnor", worn in Skye Fall

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-04:44
by Daniel Craig. Looks also good but I stuck to the original brown model. Boots are not really formal wear anyway.

According to the Financial Times' "How to spend it" magazine Comnando Soles are in fashion again

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-06:30
These boots were also featured in "How to spend it" ... what a name ... I always laugh ny head of ... "How to spend it" πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

My choice could be also Belstaff, but ...

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-07:29
... I had this on my mind: Burbbery Prosum Line espresso lamb suede trench coat with black shearling collar , from 2012. I know that I am showing off a bitπŸ˜€. But Bestaff is also good ...

You’ve got all bases covered with that selection πŸ‘Œ...

Brown: absolutely.

 By: mrds : October 17th, 2019-07:25
Black is just too.... well, black. Brown the way to go!

Haha Jaaa πŸ˜€: "Black is too black"

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-07:50
Tried the black, at the time because Now mit available in black anymore, on: Just black, nothing more πŸ˜€.

Heschung is top!

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-04:58
Lovely country style boots, too. I am not sure if Heschung does veldtshoen construction: The upper leather is not stiched inside onto the welt, but folded outside and lies therefore ontop of the welt, ob the surface.

A useful graphic for those who, like me, don’t know veldtschoen from Holstein...

Just what I need for the coming weekend in Yorkshire! Credit: C&J website ...

Appreciate your post, Ano Nuevo!

Try them on at a C&J boutique: top quality boots.

I noticed you are wearing Heschung πŸ˜‰ [nt]

As an alternative....

This is a pair of boots by Corcoran. The original β€œJump boots” used by Airborne Forces in WW2. Half the fun is high polishing the toe-cap. ...

Looks like a veldtshoen Top, from the distance

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-06:39
Did not know about that Maker, which is a "serious" militarry boot maker. Nice brouging and colour but a bit too serious for my taste.

I can imagine that πŸ˜€ [nt]

Great model, from my favorite shoemaker

 By: Boris : October 17th, 2019-08:21
I am partial to the Coniston, which is a bit more civilized, but the veldtschoen construction of the Snowdon is better suited to a rugged use in the countryside (if one doesn't want to wear wellies). As for people asking why not black, the answer is: this...

Boris: you know about style!

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-08:52
Very good answer in favour of brown. Conistons are beautiful too but remind me still of millitary boots, albeit very, very slightly only. The veldtshoen construction was one strong reason to pick this Snowdon. Edward Green makes also a lovely veldtshoe na...

Here some pictures from the Chelseas

My reserve, still unworn pair made on 202 last with a thick double leather sole (oak bark tanned leather, I think): And the very well worn, nearly in daily rotation pairs: These Edward Greens are my favorite shoes, hence in almost daily rotation. Regardin...

Top class, Count!

 By: mrds : October 18th, 2019-18:06
Just oozes with style. Your beautiful green Greens remind me to wear my green Santonis more often. Have a great weekend! Daniel

Nice! One of my favorite brands of shoes

I have a pair of Swansea and a pair of Finsbury. Very good shoes. Enjoy

Swansea and Finsbury have been made on the same last

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 17th, 2019-15:31
if I am not wrong but one has got a Dainite sole and the Finsbury a leather sole. Smart choices!

My kind of shoes

 By: RG1 : October 17th, 2019-23:42
Classic and timeless. Great choice. Brown or black, both are great colors. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you like them!

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 18th, 2019-05:54
I can see you also wearing them.

I have those exact ones

 By: ChristianDK : October 21st, 2019-05:55
Bought 8 years ago. Very tough for snow and ice, albeit a bit heavy due to the thick rubber soles. They definately have a place in the wardrobe. I also have the "Skyefall" but they dont have the same grip on ice and snow.

The Islay (from Skye Fall) are also very, very nice boots

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 21st, 2019-11:32
Looking forward to my experience to have the Snowdon boots worn eight years πŸ‘

they will look even nicer in 8 years

 By: ChristianDK : October 21st, 2019-12:44
They patinate really well but do NOT use regular shoe polish. You need a special grease for this leather. This is completely transparent and the leather will look nice with all the little blemishes and scratches. You need to be tough on these boots and th...

Thank you for the tip

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 21st, 2019-14:08
I was also thinking to ask C&J for shoe care for these particular boots. I use a cream for my bicycle sadle from Brooks (it is basically one piece of leather) a clear, soft cream. It melts at body temperature and makes the sadle soft and repellent. Maybe ...

That sounds about right

I will have a look in my polish box tomorrow and get back with the product I’m using.

That is most kind of you. [nt]

I have a watch fetish and I have a shoe fetish. I’m just wondering when I should β€œcome out of the closet” with it. 😁 πŸ˜‚
