COVID is a reasonable excuse. You have lovely company! Both in guests, wine, and watches!

Thank you, Patrick!

 By: Alfihar : December 1st, 2020-20:51
It was not only a double ;-) As I do things the best I can, especially for my daughters, there were actually 18 gifts, but also 18 cards with on each one, a photo of each year of her existence and a text that I had written (18 tips / suggestions from a da...

That was the aim.. hope so, and think she would remember her special day...

2009 - 2010 Margaux either on, what's not to like?

 By: MikiJ : November 30th, 2020-17:44
Maybe a little early to drink, but why not? Only because I prefer the Patek, I'll take the 2010

You really know how to through a great party.

 By: Bill : November 30th, 2020-18:04
This one is waiting for the right opportunity. ...

You're going to be in for a real treat...

 By: MikiJ : November 30th, 2020-19:26
I had a little house party for my 60th and I opened 1 each 1982 of the five Bordeaux first growths plus Petrus. The Margaux and the LaTour were my favorites. Enjoy

Nice....more than ready to roll

 By: halkcb : November 30th, 2020-21:31

Ah Ch. Margaux. Very young vintages to drink now, but how were they?

 By: emcquillan : November 30th, 2020-21:42
I recently had a 2000 Ch. Margaux and it was still a bit tight. Not singing yet ... perhaps in another few years. Iโ€™m patiently sitting on my 2005โ€™s 09โ€™s and 10โ€™s and would love to know what you thought. How long did you decant for before trying? Was one ...

You and I agree :-)

 By: MikiJ : December 2nd, 2020-07:12

Opened a 2005 recently - was delightful, will age very well but still worthwhile to drink if you have extra!

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 18th, 2020-11:17
Started to sing after a little after an hour, too good so finished before we reached the 2.5 hour mark though but was improving.

I only have three of the 2005 and want to let it mature a little more despite the temptation :)

 By: emcquillan : December 18th, 2020-12:22
Love the 2005 vintage in general though. Kindest regards,

Always easier when you have other choices!

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 18th, 2020-13:54
What are your favorite vintages that you are drinking now for Bordeaux? Mine have been 1990, 1996 and 2000

Very similar my favourite vintages drinking now are

 By: emcquillan : December 18th, 2020-21:06
1985, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1996 and 1998. 1998 right bank only. Iโ€™m also drinking some 2000 Chateau, but most are still too young. Some have hit their mark so itโ€™s a bit of hit and miss.

Been drinking 85, 86 Lynch Bages

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 19th, 2020-04:29
Solid! But I guess my palate is not as refined as I seem to prefer slightly younger compared to the late 60s to late 80s.

Itโ€™s all subjective. And wine evolves which is so much fun.

 By: emcquillan : December 19th, 2020-10:08
I remember in 2012 drinking 2009 Pontet-Canet as soon as my Futures arrived. After 4 hours in the decanter the wine was spectacular. One of the five greatest wine experiences ever. My lips were literally reverberating. I was shocked and blown away. Not 20...

That's quite interesting!

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 22nd, 2020-20:22
I actually love the 2009/2010 Pontet-Canet and trying to get more bottles when I can! So you are saying in 2012, this was actually singing and now you think it's "too early" and will need another 15 years? How does that work? Either way, I also enjoy/can'...

Yes, sometimes a bottle can be great right away and then shutdown for 20 years

 By: emcquillan : December 23rd, 2020-08:32
And sometimes an older bottle can be good one year, be less expressive for a few years and come back again. It constantly evolves. Generally though once it actually matures it stays good. Yes Pontet-Canet is a star

Thank you! Always learning!

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 23rd, 2020-09:02

Just had 2000 PC tonight

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 24th, 2020-19:03
Very underrated!

Amazing! Glad you agree

 By: emcquillan : December 24th, 2020-21:23
For sure 2009 and 2010 are budding legends and 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 will take a long time to age and will be stars, but 2000, 2001 and 2005 Pontet-Canet before it became famous are very underrated wonderful wines. Glad you enjoyed it

Very good combination. Enjoy your moment, mon ami.

Great vintages!

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : December 2nd, 2020-13:39
I wish it was more readily accessible so that we all don't have to hold onto the younger vintages. Would love to try the 09, 10 now!
