All our thoughts are with him, his family and fellow teammates

Luckily, a football pitch is nowadays probably one of the “best” places to have a cardiac arrest with all the well-trained and well-equipped doctors only few meters away. I understand also that a state-of-the-art hospital is located in the same area as the stadium.
What a difference with Marc-Vivien Foe who tragically passed away on the pitch in Lyon back in 2003.
Best

A very close call for Christian Eriksen last night.

Perhaps some of you where watching the match last night where Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during the match against Finland. Luckily Eriksen was brought back to life from a very quick acting medical team. Apparently he is suppo...

UEFA didnt give them much of a choice though. They where given the option of finishing the match last night or today at 12.00. Laudrup is officially pissed off. His opinion is the match should have been called off and and just be 0/0. I see his point.

Yes you are quite right. Last night proved that the medical setup as well as team spirit of the players worked amazingly. ALso, as you say, the hospital is right next to the stadium. It sadly happens sometimes, like it did to your Marc-Vivien Foe. Out of ...

I was at home. In the garden i sat with a croissant and breads. In that time i thought, give the cat her wet food. I had left the TV on in the living room, and i noticed when i made a cup of coffee, my TV had set to off while i had adjust the eco modus. I...
I am so sorry to hear about your Suzanne.

It must have been dreadful! And the feeling of being incapable. That was exactly what we could witness last night in the faces of the other players formed a circle around Eriksen to shield him but unable to do anything for their friend. Very strong pictur...

Especially as I have been a bit grumpy this week. Time to put that away and appreciate my loved ones. Yes, it can seem banal but good to be reminded once in a while.
thank you so much, Dirk!

I agree. Perspective is so important! No and then it needs a bit of calibration.
Extremely distressing to see.

It’s amazing how quickly everyone recognized what was going on; huge credit to all the staff and medical professionals. When this same thing happened in the UK several years ago it needed a doctor to come from the crowd and push through security to help (...
Thank you so much for your thoughts, Jay!

I think the professional setup has improved tremendiously and it proved itself well last night. Those involved can be very proud of their reactions.
I may be a Liverpool fan

but I have huge respect for Christian Ericksen as a player and as a person. I was horrified to read when I woke up this morning of what had happened. We always assume professional sportsmen are super fit and expect a lot from them. We tend to forget they ...
Thank you so much, Sham!

Yes, he is a great, great person and hasnt been able to speak to the other players yet, but apparently one of the first things e said was how his team mates are doing? Sadly we see it in these top athletes occactionally, even if they are checked from top...
Would that have been caught by doctors?
By: ChristianDK : June 13th, 2021-14:57
I read a statement from one of his former clubs where the doctor in charge had been going through all his former test results last night, after the event. e said everything looked perfect in the annual checkups. There is still no official explanation to w...
I was watching the game....

but I didn't understand, at first, how serious the situation was. I'm glad he came out of it, a bit worse for wear BUT out of it, none the less. Few years ago, during an Italian top league match, I saw the same situation but..unfortunately the player didn...
I didnt get at first either, Sergio but my wife knew instantly...
By: ChristianDK : June 14th, 2021-12:30
Its such an unbelivable thing to watch it happing live. I guess we are so used to seing players rolling around in agony that we rarely consider it as something serious. The good news is he has spoken to his team members and seems fine he came back on the...
Thank you so much, Mo. Wise words and serious reminder.

Yes the pictures of his wife standing on the field whereheart breaking. I think the tv producers should have changed the picture earlier. He died right in front of her and their children. No words for it.
Thank you so much, GM :-)
