That's a lot of signal tubes for a mono amp. Is one of them . . .
. . . a phase inverter? They don't look like they're for power supply regulation.
6x KT120 for the amplification stage and the other smaller tubes are for the pre-amplification stage of the amplifiers - could not tell you if one of the smaller tube are for phase inverter or not though...
The main power supply is below in the casing where they are no tubes...

Personally I prefer 6550 over KT88. Just my personal for most of the time though. In some song KT88 is better .

I have Linn speakers and Burson amp / pre am set up. I stream Qobuz high res. That is a fixed point (not buying vinyl) but at some point may look to upgrade...thanks for your expertise!!!

I won’t, but sometime I do wonder as I have only listen them once in the past year...but when I do I love it
Most of my vinyl are less then 10 years old and have all been manufactured within that span of 10 years so the quality is impeccable (most of them thicker, and remastered with all tube equipments, etc...)
Well I must say a friend of mine is doing DSD mastering from analog tape and the result is quite spectacular
I think DSD format is bringing digital to another level compared to CDs...

Perfect explanation. If I may add people taste in music and choice of equipment even component makes audiophile even more exciting.. As much as I worship vinyl, I dont have a single one anymore and I regret that every time I hear a vinyl at friends house....
