I owned one several years ago, it was a quite enjoyable piece.
But as you may have guessed, there was a batch of "unofficial" reissues around the 80s I believe with old stock parts. The movement is a nice column wheel chrono. Not sure which ebauche it is based upon.
So either you do your due diligence for a collectible piece and pay a high price, or you go with a somewhat questionable piece and pay a reasonable price.
The highest valued examples are the Sternzeit Reguliert ones as far as I know.
