Main reason is that the caliber 11 has the crown on the left side of the case like the original Monaco did. I'm pretty sure both are modular chronographs but the 11 is higher

grade hence the higher price. I'm a big blue dial and a Steve Mcqueen fan which prompted me to look at both closely and I believe the blue in the cal 12 is more vibrant vs
the blue in the 11 which is a slightly different shade and a bit flatter, less vibrant. This would be subjective and a matter of personal preference. Also I must admit I've not
seen both side by side to be 100% sure of this.

Always wanted one, yet,,,,

was hesitant to actually get it. About 16 months ago made the arrangements with my local AD and sooooo glad I did!. A truly fun timepiece with that famed Monaco / Gulf styling. I mixed it up with a NATO strap Works great, reliable, and I think mine is +3/...
Thanks all. Very interesting

You say as long as it’s a Caliber 11 ? I see there are two “blue” Monaco’s. Ones an 11 abs the other is an 02 - is the 11 a better movement ?
Just posted a few pics
