I was looking at the new 44 ---

these are obviously very good looking watches, this one is very clean and the 44, pretty cool...
yet they still have a certain 'wannabe' aspect about them, the 44 more so than this one...

It occurred to me today, a simple partial solution:

LOSE the TAG in TAG HEUER.
Just lose TAG, forever.

It has little to no meaning (for almost everyone) and is always a subtraction from the HOLY NAME HEUER.

LOSE TAG. FOREVER.

This alone would elevate ALL TH watches. Or, er, um... H watches.

Not only is the name TAG meaningless (mostly, in terms or relevance historically) but it also is associated with the emblem/logo that I dislike a lot, the Tag Heuer "mailbox' logo...
Which can be seen on most bracelet clasps...

Lose that.

I believe, and I mean this in dead serious earnestness... losing TAG and the 'mailbox' will enrich the brand exponentially...

Imagine every TH watch being called HEUER.

Man, it would mean a lot and change a lot of minds...

Only Heuer and everything associated with Heuer matters...
Tag is the 2nd wife.... not the mother.

if you will...

My 2c.

While I felt some excitement about the sport series this one leaves me a bit cold. Probably a compromise between the 160th and the sport, time will tell. As a side comment I find it interesting there wasn't a single shot of the caseback in the H article, ...

This series looks good to me

Putting on my corporate hat, this is a successful release. Safe, balanced layout, good size and in house Cal 02. These are far better than the ETA 7750 Carreras and I think they’ll age even better than the Grand Carrera line. Putting on my enthusiast hat,...

Always liked this watch in its various forms. Tempting. [nt]

I think they did a great job on this one.
