After visiting my daughter at the Punk Rock Flea Market...

Sep 10, 2022,20:59 PM

Just left the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market (which oddly wasn't in Trenton today) where my wife and I were visiting my youngest daughter who sells handmade jewelry and rugs, among other things.

This is a regular event and although it often is in Trenton, NJ, it sometimes travels to other venues. I've never been to one of these before and can't say I'll ever go again, but it reminded me of my younger years. A couple hundred vendors selling everything you'd image would be sold at an event called the Punk Rock Flea Market, most of it interesting, much of it artistically impressive, at least looking at it from my perspective as an artist myself. I should have taking photos of some of the more interesting items, like the vendor selling handmade sterling jewelry mounted with real human teeth--odd but very well done.

That’s actually very nice to know…

I didn’t think Trenton would host a regular flea market. Last flea market I went to was a long time ago in NY. Would bring back memories to see the wide variety of cool things on offer there. Kudos to your daughter for her entrepreneurial drive.

Much respect, and good for her.

And added credit to you for supporting her in that decision. It’s not always easy.

True, it's not always easy. Supporting came after some serious discussions. Having spent my own career in marketing, followed by retiring at age 44, I probably influenced her more then I would have liked. LOL

I guided her first through her choice of pursuing digital marketing and was happy she chose that path, knowing first hand the potential her career would provide. However, I hadn't anticipated her deciding she would abandon that path at only 21, but, like ...

Human teeth...
