Very happy to find a great copy of this Seiko after 3 years

I fell in love with the Seiko SNR017 after I first saw it in the metal 3 years ago. A fellow collector had just landed it back then and I had the pleasure to see and handle it in the metal.

I didn’t know that such a model exists and was blown away by the stepped case and dial and moonphase of this model. From my understanding, this is one of the earliest implementation of the Spring Drive on a Seiko watch before they started putting SD on Grand Seiko.

may possibly be a JDM model, hence the delay in you trying to obtain one. Such a lovely dial, does it have the open caseback? if so would be good to see if possible. Cheers

That wasn't JDM model, I remember I was

Thanks this is not a JDM model but it has been out since 2008 and is limited to 200 pieces

Hence not easy to find one especially in a full set. Yes it has a display caseback. Will share some pics later.

Thanks John

I saw this model at a dealer in San Francisco many years ago and was too stupid to pick it up. A really exceptional, elegant moonphase with a Spring Drive movement. Enjoy!

Thanks my friend

I am so elated to be able to find this. Agree that its really an exceptional Spring Drive especially with the beautiful monochromatic moonphase. The movement is actually better finished than most modern SD GS models.

Here is a picture of the display caseback
