The Ultimate Steel Sports Watch...
May 31, 2023,23:14 PM
About a month ago, I bought SBGE255, which is a wonderful watch. In fact, I love it!
Then I learned about SBGE275. Spring drive. A snowflake-esque dial, exhibition caseback, and an absolutely insane sapphire bezel...basically all the best parts of Grand Seiko, rolled into one watch. Only problem was the 44mm size.
Unfortunately SGBE275 was a limited edition, and a bit more than I was ok spending on.
Of course...I'm browsing the forums one night and an SBGE275 pops up for the lowest price I'd seen, and from a reputable seller.
Pulled the trigger and a few days later...here we are!
The 44mm size is actually completely fine. It wears a bit bigger than SBGE255 for sure, but it's not huge. The thickness is real though. So not quite as comfortable.
With that said, REALLY glad I did this. The bezel is absolutely nuts combined with the dial texture...a complete winner for me.
I tried to capture the dial under a few different types of light. Regular indoor, outside, and harsher indoor lights! Hopefully this illustrates how bananas the dial and bezel are.
The finishing on this watch is nice too, especially at this price point. Very pleasantly surprised!
