Seiko SPB 153 crystal alignment?
Jun 29, 2021,08:29 AM
Hi all, I've been enjoying your conversations for quite a while, now coming with a question:
I recently ordered a Seiko SPB 153 new at a good price. Wearing it on a 10 Euro nylon strap it's the most comfortable watch I ever owned. After a week I noticed that the crystal sits a bit higher at 12 than at 6. Normally this is not visible at all, I can feel the difference though when gliding around the circular edge with my finger. I'm just wondering: Should I be concerned that the crystal isn't fully in place and it could potentially affect water resistance? I'm enjoying this watch a lot and would only go through the bothersome process of returning the watch if I knew this could be a functional problem in the future.
any opinion will be much appreciated!

I sent the watch back to get the crystal fixed. Seiko instead returned a completely new watch. Apparently slightly updated. Notably now with a luminous marker next to the date window as in the new SPB237 have a nice day! F ...

-1 sec/d vs. +10 sec/d of the first one. Also its luminous markers are better aligned, the first one had its marker at 6 a little bit off to the left. don't know if I am just lucky with this particular watch or perhaps Seiko made an effort to update the g...
