Rose Creek Diver Redux
We headed farther up Rose Creek today - in fact where the name changes to Rose Canyon.
I'm wearing my Seiko Diver, white dial, and non-Seiko but genuine Tropic strap. I've repossessed it from my wife at least 3 times.
There's still water in the bottom, but the canyon is mostly filled with scrub brush, old trees, train tracks, a new trolley line and cyclists.
Looking to my left I think: What? Who left these wires in such a jumble! It doesn't look very professional, does it?
Immediately to my right and down it's an entirely different scene. The river goes up into a culvert at this point.
Yesterday when I mentional the coastal live oak, and the Torrey pines, I forgot to mention the Sycamore trees which fill our canyon bottoms.
They're beautiful, especially when lit like this.

We ran into a barbed wire obstacle and turned inland a few yards
to cross the creek on a convenient stone bridge
The trail was distinct but not civilized.
and the ground was covered with frost. My wife was not pleased.
So we spun ourselves around and retraced our steps. STOP
A bunny.
We descended into the canyon, crossed the creek again,
and emerged into a deserted business park under the shadow of the new trolley line.
where I could take some civilized photos for a change.
We drove over to the start of the completed section of bike path. I don't like having cars too close to me, but I don't really like riding through miles of chain link prison either. What do you think?

It's also a very bad place to take a dog when a big pack of cyclists come through!
So it's civilization to the Left, and oblivious to change on the Right.
I'll take the messy natural path, thank you.

Where does the new trolley line start and end?
The new line goes from Old Town to UCSD area, east of La Jolla, and stops there
So much of it is elevated at great expense -- I doubt the billions spent on it will ever be recouped... ...
