I like Seiko’s higher end stuff....

...and would miss much of their SLA line. Seiko has the sports/ dive watch history and designs to build off of and have done a nice job bringing back vintage pieces recently. Grand Seiko sport pieces lack the history and style for me.

cause great delight at Casio & Citizen. I can't imagine why they would do it. There's also Credor on the higher end.

How many outside watch collectors know what Credor is? I wouldn’t be surprised if Citizen dropped their non eco drive line in the near future.

Unlikely Seiko will ditch the bread and butter anytime soon.
