I have had several GS watches serviced

FIRST - what country are you in? Weems is in the Netherlands.

My story is from the USA.

I have had 3 Seikos serviced by "the factory" one in New Jersey and two in Japan.

Two of them took about 8 weeks each, and the other one about 6-7 weeks.

The first watch was a GS SBGW003 old Grand Seiko. Because it came from Singapore and non-air conditioned house, it had mold on the dial, so it went back to GS for a new dial and a service.

I sent in a Seiko 9T82 which is one of the most complicated Seiko watches, and a 100th second chrono which was amazing and more than $1000 when new.

I can't see why a Spring Drive should take any longer than a mechanical or quartz watch. Mine did not, even including the trip to Japan.

There's no way to find out how long and how much other than sending it in. But I can tell you that they seem to have their act together regarding service, far better than most Swiss brands.

I have had many Spring Drives, the oldest dating back to 2000 and none have needed any service.

Your GS is i guess an older model. Seiko and GS always durable. I have my doubts. I owned a Seiko and i was not impressed about it.
