How many of your watches have a see-through caseback?

Is it a factor you look for in a watch?

Does it influence the pleasure of ownership?

Do you ever find yourself wanting to convert a solid back?

I’m just wondering how others feel

sinc I have plenty of each

And some are plain while others are decorated.

Sport watches I love solid. Dress watches I prefer see through caseback.

It really depends on the watch, the level of finishing, etc. I vote 50-50 😊. All the very best, Alex

Agree with you on that one 👍🏻 [nt]

since love to c mvmnts.

I mostly favor see-through case back if the movement is nicely made and decorated.

However, for some re-edition models, I do not mind a solid caseback because it is much more closer to the original vintage models.

See through

Particularly like see through on complicated manual wind like Lange Dato and PP 5270...

I’ve wanted a display back watch for years. And then whenever I get another watch it ends up having a solid case back.

that's not entirely true

some are quite lovely but not all of them, of course ...

Strictly speaking the first is a Tudor, but still ...

Though, I think some of the solid ones can as interesting. On my wish list is a watch with a solid case back with a gold medallion on it. I've no idea why other than I like the aesthetics of it & only the wearer knows. Cheers JML
