Wuuooaaahhh ... nice, but too sharp
By: COUNT DE MONET : July 16th, 2019-04:05
It is all a convincing design, but to my taste the hands are too pointed. It is like a scalpel on the wrist, to me. It will look much better in real, I am sure. Thank you for your suggestion!
Getting better

Quite nice dial. Very good and solid case, too. Thank you for your proposal.
No reason to stick to formal

Seiko divers are always having a good tool watch appereance. A tip to consider, thank you!
Seiko? "Did someone call me?"
By: cazalea : July 16th, 2019-07:47
Shall we start with the basics? No, let's get basic Seikos later. We can do Grand Seikos quickly... Do you prefer your watches in black (yes the hands are sharp but they are behind that glass partititon so you can't cut yourself on them) or white? or crea...

That’s a great lineup 👍
Presage is a good place for a Seiko novice to begin!

Not expensive and beautiful dials! Again White and Black to choose from (3-hand or Chrono, in this case) They are making a mark with their blue dials, either enamel smooth as glass or textures Not too big or too small I don't know where to go from here .....

I noticed/followed the chrono, also the Presage and GS models. They are surely quite appealing. For a reason that I don't know I did not get a Seiko so far.
Vintage or Modern

A nice Seiko can be acquired for reasonable money. If you'd like to spend more current offerings are impressive! To me "Made In Japan" is nothing to snivel at and Seiko shows why. ...
Looked into that topic again
By: COUNT DE MONET : July 17th, 2019-07:16
I recall that Seiko was also mentioned in the race for the first automatic chrono when I was reading about that topic. A recet review of that article is saying: Breitling and Heuer published the first plans/sketches of an auto chrono, Zenith showed the fi...
El Primero
By: InDebtButOnTime : July 17th, 2019-12:44
Whether it IS the el primero or not (el segundo?) that's a good point about Zenith's entry in the auto chronograph race still being around. I had also heard that while Seiko did beat the others by a bit those pieces were only available in Japan.

Many fine choices here...

But I'd like to second cazalea's suggestion of the Hi-Beat 5645-5010. Here's one currently for sale on "the Bay." A search will bring us some pretty attractive pics of the watch on his wrist—usually with his cat! I think the cat's optional, though… I'l do...

the SBGA403. (Thank you, HODINKEE) This will add another column to the price tag (just over the mark), but for my taste has a dial I should never, never tire of admiring. (Not to mention a case of marvelously-angled dimensions.) Not a small watch (44.5x14...
