OK, here they are: Cazalea's choice of Grand Seikos

Jan 22, 2018,16:06 PM

I have had about 20 all together. These are the ones I like most, and I have kept.

Spring Drive - the Snowflake
SBGA011 or SBGA211

Hand Wind - classic style
SBGW033 or SBGW253

Automatic - might be redundant with the Hi-Beat GMT but this is the epitome of GS (Rolex Explorer) sport watch (to me)
SBGM001

Hi-Beat there are many to choose from Peacock, Burgundy, this one - obviously I liked this one
SBGJ225

Quartz - any of the 9F that strikes your fancy. The Limited Edition / High Accuracy models are fun (with star on dial)
SBGX103

A New Blue Dial in the House: Grand Seiko SBGJ225 "Kasuri"

 By: cazalea : January 22nd, 2018-11:55
I know these blue dials are getting a bit ridiculous, with the Peacock GS, the Cocktail Presage, the Enamel Presage ... but I had to grab one of these Kasuri GS (Asian "but-not-Japan") models when the chance came up and some friendly PuristS assistance wa...

The dial is stunning.

What a watch. Congratulations. Surely a good companion to your other Seikos.

Beautiful!

Great pics, and review. Wish it were available near me! Thank you Mike and congrats! Ken

Give you a challenge, Mike...if you can only own 1 GS, which one will it be?

Or make it easier, 1 SpringDrive, 1 Hi-Beat, 1 Mechanical, 1 Boutique etc. Rgds Raymond

I understand. Same for me but 🤫😁

I love these choices. Thank you Mike....that 1st one, snow flake and the 2nd hand wind are definitely awesome watches...

SBGW033 is the 130th anniversary in 2011 while the SBGW253 was launched last year for the 1960 birth year? I quite like that SBGW253 but what about SBGR305? Also the 2 references SBGA011 vs 211....first look from web search cannot see much differences.......

In most cases I gave you both numbers - before and after GS was “liberated”

 By: cazalea : January 22nd, 2018-21:05
Meaning the model codes before and after GS became a stand-alone brand this year. The 305 is exceptional but I don’t have one (yet) to recommend from first hand experience. It’s titanium, the dial is killer, and a few are available. Cazalea

I love that blue dial !!

Good luck. I’m sure some are still for sale or will pop up for resale. Cazalea

Wow - another great blue dial

Very different to your Presage, but equally impressive Cheers JML

Double blues

They are different in most ways but still tell time and glow blue One for each arm I guess Mike ...

Definite way forward :-)

Enjoy them both!
