I soldered motor leads, resistors, battery cells, etc when I was in grade school.
Sad story: I was at a friends house soldering with a pen and the pen was on the stand between tasks. His parakeet fancied the nice perch. Poor thing was screetching and flying around the roof with burnt tootsies.
