Some of them can be very difficult to source new crystals for (original hardlex tricky find for, e.g. KS45-7xxx), and you do not want to be trying to use
glass polishing diamond paste to get scratches out ;-)


.. some of the day/date movements can be a bit brittle with some plastic components that are fragile ..

.. broken mainsprings can be problematic (there is a very good watch blog on how to work around this with, e.g., grand ressorts)

I had a Ks45-7001 that kept astonishing time for an old thing - only reason I sold it was some other shiny trinket appealed - and subsequently got a GS ..

I think if you are in Asia you have a better chance of finding decent KS watches (and parts)

I wouldn't recommend it to a new watch collector in the US or Europe, but that's just me (trouble avoidance) on the points mentioned by others. Happy hunting Mike
