The dial has that great mottled patina.

The early 6542 dial versions were most susceptible to this decay. But it does create a cool patina.

...and in some cases the increased value of watches with blemished (to be charitable) dials. It says either the watch was beat up and not cared for or there was moisture damage or a defect in the manufacturing. None of these are good...

Tropical is a term i use to describe a broad rage on dial conditions from damaged all the way up to what i call color change. Color change is pristine but has turned to brown or caramel. Those are more of the exceptional dial with increase value due to th...  

One of the few watches I had an opportunity to buy and regret passing on. Was afraid I would wear it because of the bezel fragility and my propensity to bang into things.
